Do you have disability insurance?

If you became unable to work due to a covered injury or illness, how would you meet your financial obligations? Disability insurance is designed to replace a portion of your income in the event you’re unable to work due to a disability. After all, what’s more valuable to you and your family than monthly income to help pay the bills and put food on the table?

Do you need disability insurance? Some people automatically have disability insurance through their employer. Other employers may offer disability insurance as an elective benefit at an extra cost to their employees. If your employer’s disability insurance policy offers you a replacement of at least 50% of your income, you may not need to purchase extra disability coverage.

However, if you don’t have the option of an employer plan, you may want to consider purchasing a disability policy. Your Horace Mann representative can give you more information regarding disability insurance options from Horace Mann Life Insurance Company.
